Depression and the military

Depression rates are greater in the military than in the general population, especially among family members. However, there is assistance available to lessen symptoms and enhance general wellbeing. It is a known fact that stigma within the military and among military families prevents some people from getting the assistance they need. If a military member seeks assistance for depression, they could be concerned about how their peers will see them or that they won’t be promoted.

"After seeing Dr. Park for the last eight months, I can honestly say I’ve never been more thankful for a doctor like him. He doesn’t b.s. you. He doesn’t allow you to b.s. yourself. I cannot put into words how much he has helped me heal and helped me to be a better version of me."
